Meaning Making in the Metaverse (Salon)
Date/Time: March 27th @ 10AM PDT

The Metaverse — “the sum of all worlds” — looms large in the imaginations of the tech companies that dominate our global culture. Yet the secret to satisfying  experiences in this world to come can be found by shifting from making “content” to making “meaning.” In more familiar terms: art.

Join our premiere “storytelling and art” salon for a close-knit talk with an interdisciplinary group of art makers — from movement to illustration — about how lessons from across the artistic spectrum inform the most exciting explorations of this new, infinite frontier.

Guests: Sarah Perry (Movement Director of The Royal Shakespeare Company’s Dream), Nancy Baker Cahill (New Media Artist), Edward Madojemu (VR artist & creator, Dami and Falian)

Strange New Worlds - The Art of Worldmaking (Salon)
Date/Time: March 27th @11:30AM PDT

The secret sauce of immersive and experiential work is SPACE. While we may not be talking about the final frontier, Immersonauts do encounter strange new worlds online on a regular basis. Worlds designed by a new generation of creators with a knack for mashing up the design principles of games, theatre, and theme parks to provide theatrical sandboxes for creative play. Our salon will focus on the art — visual, spatial, and conceptual — that goes into making these online worlds resonate with the fullness of realities yet unseen.

Guests: Kaitlin Chin (THICKETT), ᚹᚦ [Wynn Thorn] (Gather), Em Lazer-Walker (Roguelike Celebration), Jen Davis-Wilson/Fionna (VRChat Prefabs)

Tagging The Metaverse (Salon)
Date/Time: March 27th @ 1PM PDT

Learn how to influence the way that search engines process information about your immersive and experiential work.

The PAIR-CG group is an open and artist-led group creating guidelines to shape how search engines (e.g Google, DuckDuckGo) connect audiences with immersive experiences - potentially shaping how experiential work can be discovered in the digital universe...or stay hidden forever.

Participants will learn how to improve their online reach to audiences and have the opportunity to share their perspective on immersive and experiential work with the working group.

Guests: Members of the PAIR-CG working group; Chris Grim (CTO of the HERE Institute and chief architect of the Everything Immersive site).

Covering the New Age of ARGs (Panel)
Date/Time: March 27th @ 10AM PDT

This virtual roundtable discussion features a rare conversation between many of the outlets that provide coverage on the alternate reality gaming ("ARG") space, including voices from ARGN.com, the ARGonauts podcast, No Proscenium, Night Mind, and Inside A Mind. Beyond explaining what the heck an alternate reality game is and what makes them so exciting for players and viewers alike, this session will explore how contemporary ARGs have evolved. It will also touch on elements of the ARG experience you might have missed, if you've only relied on coverage to experience them vicariously

Guests: Inside A Mind, Nick Nocturne ( Night Mind), Anthony Robinson (No Proscenium), Marn S. (ARGonauts Podcast)
Hosted by: Michael Andersen (ARGN.com)

Playful Isolation: Creating & Enjoying Theatrical Digital Escape Games (Panel)
Date/Time: March 27th @ 11:30A PDT

For the past year, remote play has brought about rapid change within the escape room industry. We have gathered a handful of creators who have produced especially theatrical games for a discussion moderated by David Spira of Room Escape Artist. Together they will unpack how they went about making these games, what makes them fun, and what has been gained by the immersive community in the process. Balancing the creators on the panel, Reality Escape Pod co-host Peih-Gee Law will share a player's perspective on a year enjoying these games from her home.

Guests: Mark Larson (Trapped Puzzle Rooms), Sarah Zhang (OMESCAPE), Matt Carson, (Thin Reality Experiences via Escape Room Melbourne), Peih-Gee Law (Reality Escape Pod, Survivor).   Moderated by: David Spira

Celebrating The Cast of The Under Presents (Panel)
Date/Time: March 27th @ 1PM PDT

The actors behind the avatars of The Under Presents share stories from the time in the inter dimensional nightclub. Celebrate the decorated run that changed how people think about acting in virtual reality.

Guests: Brandon Bales, Michael Bates, Karlie Blair, James Cowan, Sophie Cooper, Genevieve Flati, Whitton Frank, Stephanie Hyden, Dasha Kittredge, Terence Leclere, Deirdre Lyons, Haylee Nichele, Soren Royer-McHugh, Katelyn Schiller
